    India celebrates 70th Republic Day on Saturday honouring the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935). The prime highlight of Republic Day celebrations is the 90 minutes long annual parade down the Rajpath via Vijay Chowk to India Gate in New Delhi.
